L'économie informelle, qui englobe une variété d'activités économiques non réglementées, représente un défi majeur à Kananga, en République Démocratique du Congo. Cette situation est exacerbée par un accès limité à l'énergie électrique, entraînant des conséquences économiques, sociales et environnementales préoccupantes pour la population. Les entreprises informelles, souvent dépourvues de ressources et de régulations, sont confrontées à des obstacles structurels qui compromettent leur développement et accroissent leur dépendance à des sources d'énergie polluantes.
