Peer review process
IJSSASS operates a single-blind peer review process: reviewers' identities are withheld from authors, while reviewers see the author's name and affiliation.
1. Editorial screening. Every submission is first checked by the editorial desk for fit with the journal's scope, completeness, and adherence to the formatting requirements set out in the Author Guidelines. Submissions that fail this initial check are returned to the author without external review.
2. Reviewer assignment. Manuscripts that pass editorial screening are assigned to at least two independent reviewers with relevant subject-matter expertise, drawn from the journal's Reviewer Board.
3. Review criteria. Reviewers assess each manuscript for originality, soundness of methodology, relevance to the journal's scope, clarity of argument and writing, adequacy of the literature review and citations, and compliance with research ethics.
4. Timeline. Reviewers are asked to return comments within approximately four weeks of assignment.
5. Decision. Based on reviewer recommendations, the handling editor issues one of the following decisions: Accept, Minor Revisions Required, Major Revisions Required, or Reject. Revised manuscripts may be returned to the original reviewers for a further round of review. The Editor-in-Chief has final authority over all publication decisions.
6. Confidentiality and conflicts of interest. Manuscripts under review are treated as confidential documents. Reviewers are required to declare any conflict of interest and to recuse themselves from reviewing a manuscript where one exists.
