It has been viewed as a dimension of organisational effectiveness.<br \/>\nObjectives: The purpose of this study was to determine the multiple correlations between the four predictors (job satisfaction, perceived organisational support, transformational leadership behaviour and level of education) on the degree of organisational commitment among nurses in South Florida\u2019s long\u2011term care facilities.<br \/>\nMethod: The analytical procedure of multiple regression was utilised to determine the predicting strength among organisational commitment and the independent variables: job satisfaction, perceived organisational support, transformational leadership behaviour and nurses\u2019 level of education. To obtain the participants for this study, the researcher chose randomly four nursing homes located in Miami\u2011Dade County. The participants were randomly chosen from a list of nursing staff provided by each facility.<br \/>\nResults: Pearson product\u2011moment correlation coefficients were computed and revealed that positive correlation existed between nurses\u2019 commitment to their organisations, the dependent variable and job satisfaction, perceived organisational support, transformational leadership and level of education, the independent variables. Of the four independent variables, a multiple regression analysis indicated that job satisfaction and perceived organisational support were most strongly related to nurses\u2019 commitment to their organisations.<br \/>\nConclusions: The study provides new support to previous research about the importance of nurses\u2019 commitment and satisfaction for organisational effectiveness and performance.
