{"id":7581,"date":"2025-06-28T19:19:44","date_gmt":"2025-06-28T19:19:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ijssass.com\/journal\/models-of-health-service-delivery-in-remote-or-isolated-areas-of-queensland-a-multiple-case-study\/"},"modified":"2025-06-29T05:05:35","modified_gmt":"2025-06-29T05:05:35","slug":"models-of-health-service-delivery-in-remote-or-isolated-areas-of-queensland-a-multiple-case-study","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ijssass.com\/journal\/models-of-health-service-delivery-in-remote-or-isolated-areas-of-queensland-a-multiple-case-study\/","title":{"rendered":"Models of health service delivery in remote or isolated areas of Queensland: a multiple case study"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This article was originally published as: <strong>Models of health service delivery in remote or isolated areas of Queensland: a multiple case study<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Original Article Link: <a href='https:\/\/www.ajan.com.au\/index.php\/AJAN\/article\/view\/1690' target='_blank' rel='noopener'>Read Original Article<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Download PDF: <a href='https:\/\/www.ajan.com.au\/index.php\/AJAN\/article\/download\/1690\/422' target='_blank' rel='noopener'>Click Here to Download PDF<\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Abstract<\/h2>\n<p>Objective: This paper reports on models of health service delivery in remote or isolated areas of Queensland.<br \/>\nBackground: There is little research that investigates current models of health service delivery in remote or isolated areas of Australia.<br \/>\nDesign: A multiple case study research design was employed that included interviews and focus groups.<br \/>\nSetting: Three types of health care facilities in remote or isolated Queensland.<br \/>\nSubjects: Thirty-five registered nurses.<br \/>\nResults: Findings indicated that nurses and Indigenous health workers are predominantly resident and provide health services in this environment, while medical and allied health care services are usually provided by non\u2011resident visiting specialists.<br \/>\nConclusions: Findings suggest that meeting the needs of communities in remote and isolated areas of Queensland requires a change in the focus of health service delivery to accommodate a primary health care philosophy.
