{"id":7550,"date":"2025-06-28T19:10:20","date_gmt":"2025-06-28T19:10:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ijssass.com\/journal\/team-nursing-experiences-of-nurse-managers-in-acute-care-settings\/"},"modified":"2025-06-29T05:06:30","modified_gmt":"2025-06-29T05:06:30","slug":"team-nursing-experiences-of-nurse-managers-in-acute-care-settings","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ijssass.com\/journal\/team-nursing-experiences-of-nurse-managers-in-acute-care-settings\/","title":{"rendered":"Team nursing: experiences of nurse managers in acute care settings"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This article was originally published as: <strong>Team nursing: experiences of nurse managers in acute care settings<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Original Article Link: <a href='https:\/\/www.ajan.com.au\/index.php\/AJAN\/article\/view\/1654' target='_blank' rel='noopener'>Read Original Article<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Download PDF: <a href='https:\/\/www.ajan.com.au\/index.php\/AJAN\/article\/download\/1654\/391' target='_blank' rel='noopener'>Click Here to Download PDF<\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Abstract<\/h2>\n<p>Objective: This study aimed to explore and describe nurse managers\u2019 experiences with a team\u2011based approach to nursing care in hospital settings.<br \/>\nDesign: A qualitative descriptive study using interviews to explore managers\u2019 experiences of team nursing.<br \/>\nSetting: Medical and surgical wards in an acute care setting<br \/>\nParticipants: Five nurse managers (four female and one male) who volunteered to participate following calls for \u2018expressions of interest\u2019 in three acute care hospitals.<br \/>\nFindings: The team nursing experiences of nurse managers are described using three main categories: adapting to team nursing, gains with team nursing and concerns with team nursing.<br \/>\nConclusions: Nurse managers considered gains for staff and patients were made with the implementation of a team\u2011based approach to nursing care. This team\u2011based approach to care was regarded by managers to enable nursing staff of varying experience and skill to provide care more safely as direct supervision by more experienced staff was possible.
